I recently read One Indian Girl, written by Chetan Bhagat. I have read several of Chetan Bhagat's books. He is a reader writer; his writing is so simple to read and enjoy. One Indian Girl is another of Mr. Bhagat’s nice writing pieces to read.

This is a book about a girl named Radhika and the events that occurred in her life. The book starts with Radhika’s marriage venue, Goa Marriott’s, where her family had already reached and settled. Radhika and her family were waiting for Brijesh and his family to arrive at the venue. Radhika was a bright young girl working in the investment banking sector abroad, and she was doing really well in her job. Brijesh was an IT guy also working abroad. Radhika was a bright student; she did her MBA from IIMA and got a job at Goldman, New York.

In New York, she meets with some of her college alumni and crosses paths with Debu, her first boyfriend. At first, she connects with Debu because of his conversation and feminist thoughts. After years passed, she needed to hide her success and all because Debu’s feminist thoughts are just thoughts. After a while, he dumped her for no reason and made her feel she was not good for the relationship. She tried a lot to connect with Debu, but he didn’t respond to her in any way. One day, she decides to quit her job in order to save her relationship, and with that thought, she arrives at Debu's house, where she finds him in bed with another girl. She broke down and thought she would leave her job and city and come back to India, but her boss tries to make her understand that’s not a good idea for her career. She was transferred to another country with her boss's support.

In Hong Kong, her second workplace country, she arrived with a heavy heart as a result of a bad breakup, so she put herself in a high-stress work environment. Here she meets her boss, Neel, a middle-aged married man. He was impressed by Radhika's performance and gave her an island resort project to handle with him. In between deals and business trips to the island, they fall into a sexual relationship. They tried to hold the feelings, but they were in on and off sexual relationships for a while. One day, Radhika happened to meet Neel’s wife and kids, and after that meeting, she decided to move on with this on-and-off relationship. She feels sorry for herself and again switches countries, this time to London with the same company.

In London, her mother, like every other Indian parent, was constantly prodding her to marry. Her mother made a matrimonial profile for her and ask her use it. She meets Brijesh, an IT guy, and they decide to get married after a few chats with both families' blessings.

At the venue, she got a message from Debu. He wants to meet her because now he realises, he makes a mistake by dumping her. At the same time, Neel is also released, he makes a mistake by not understanding her point of view and hurting her with his words. Both driving her insane, she summoned them both to a meeting near the hotel at the same time. She dumped both of them together and made them leave the city. She liked Brijesh, but she was not ready to get married at that time. She told all of it to him about Debu and Neel. She called off the wedding, where Brijesh had given her support. In between this book, you feel it’s the same love and heartbroken story, but after chapters pass, you feel the events that are happening are interesting to read about. So, for me it’s an okay book to read. If you have time and you like Mr. Bhagat's work, go for it.
