I read this novel recently. It's a pretty nice book to read in your daily routine. It gives you hope and makes you go easy with your problems. A life lesson book that teaches you how to deal with problems.
Now we talk about the book. The writing and language in this novel are very reader-friendly. You are not going to struggle to understand the book. It's a life story, so there are no off-bits, just day-by-day entries written by Anna about how she feels and what she feels during her time in the hideout.
This book belongs to the era of World War 2, where a girl named Anna from a Jewish family lived in Europe. She and her family had to face bedtime in Europe because of World War 2. They take a chance to live in the country, in a hideout at his father’s office. They make their living in that place with a few of her father’s friends and colleagues. She lives there with her mom, father, and older sister. Anna's friends and family, as well as her hideout mate, are properly explained so that you can easily understand who was who and get their perspectives and likes and dislikes about each other. The rest of the things are about how they survive with food and arguments and news. Every time they hear something, they get scared of their life. And a little love story as well, in Anna's words. She found someone to connect with, she liked him, and she liked to spend time with him too, so it was kind of a short love story also. The end of this book is not likeable, but it’s a war life story. So the end is like war's end, with ashes and pain.
I didn’t give details, so you can read this by yourself and don’t want to ruin this book for you. If you had questions about Anna and all that happened, I suggest you read this book. You are not going to regret it. It is a nice experience and a different thing to read from regular writing. Try reading this once if you have time, and enjoy coffee or tea with the novel.
